Title:                                     Executive Director

Reports to:                         Board of Directors

Primary Function:            Responsible for the overall management and administration of the organization

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Carries out duties by:

·         Responding to and working with the Board in planning, development and implementation of all policies, programs, and services of the agency.

·         Actively seeking out funding sources and financial support for the agency and coordinates with the finance and fund raising committees.

·         Developing agency marketing strategies and public relations plans and activities and coordinates with the public relations committee.

·         Developing and recommending the agency’s annual financial budget to the finance committee for approval by the Board of Directors.

·         Recommending required revisions to the budget.

·         Serving as the primary official representative and advocate of ICCS.

·         Analyzing operations including human, financial, and materials resources for needed changes that better fulfill the organization’s mission.

·         Developing and implementing a plan of internal program evaluation.

·         Operating organizational activities and programs within the budget approved by the Board of Directors.

·         Authorizing or approving purchases of supplies and equipment as outlined in the approved budget while implementing cost controls and safeguards for accountability.

·         Organizing effective Board, staff, and other meetings as necessary to conduct the business and program affairs.

·         Overseeing all personnel functions of the agency and working with the Personnel committee to ensure efficient, effective, and legal utilization of agency personnel. 

·         Insuring that sufficient policies and procedures are in place to support personnel and other operational needs.

·         Supervising Field Managers and Key Staff in accordance with legal requirements and agency policies.

·         Ensuring agency compliance with all legal obligations and specific requirements of funding sources.

·         Maintaining exceptional public relations and working relationships with funders, stakeholders, and supporters.

·         Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

·         Master’s Degree in human services, social work, or related field.  Equivalent experience may be considered as a substitute for a Master’s Degree.

·         At least four years of management/administrative experience in human or social services or related field.

·         Experience in utilizing computers and software for tracking, managing data, and word processing.

·         Ability to complete multiple tasks and assignments.

·         Ability to supervise staff that will be located in various geographic locations.

·         Demonstrate skills in organizational development and fiscal management.

·         Possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

·         Demonstrate successful experience in working with not-for-profit Boards of Directors.

·         Demonstrate knowledge and skills in both process and summative evaluation design and implementation of agency programs and services.

·         Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

·         Pass all background checks and authorization procedures’.

·         Possess knowledge of community development principles to include community organizing.
