Business Time Management and Organization

In the business world today, it is more imperative than ever to expedite your business plan. However, countless hours are wasted because managers do not know how to set up good organization. Here are some simple tips to help get your business plan rolling.

Tip 1: Delegate, delegate, delegate: Start by dividing the plan into major pieces that can be assigned to teams of people for execution. For larger plans, try to keep the number of divisions under ten. More than ten is going to get increasingly difficult to manage. For smaller projects, three or four might be enough to adequately get the job done.

Tip 2: Build a better team: When choosing people for each team keep a few things in mind. Do the people you are putting on this team work well together? Do they have qualities that complement each other, and thus giving you a better functioning team? Do you have someone in each group who is going to be a good leader, a good doer, a good organizer? All of these questions and aspects need to be addressed when creating your team.

Tip 3: Don’t get bombarded: Now that you have your teams, it is good to assign one person to be your go to contact. This point person will bring you the daily or weekly progress of your team. This keeps the amount of people darkening your door to a minimum, but it still keeps an open line of communication between you and your teams.

Using these simple tips can help make sure your next project gets done quickly, efficiently and with the results you are working to get for your growing business.

Making Checkpoints for Business Projects

When your business has a small project to complete, one way to save time and make good use of the time you have is to set good checkpoints. Here are some easy to follow tips on how to make good checkpoints.

Tip 1: Keep it achievable- Be realistic in your checkpoints. If you only give your team a week to complete a task you know is going to take nearly a month, then you will quickly find a disgruntled team. If your team’s morale falls because they are trying to meet unrealistic demands, then productivity will go down. Make checkpoints that are realistic and achievable.

Tip 2: Keep it simple- Setting outcomes in advance that are simple to achieve motivates your team. By making simple checkpoints, your team will feel a sense of accomplishment which can motivate them to move forward with their built up momentum. Complex checkpoints seem convoluted and difficult, and they can even be counterproductive.

Tip 3: Post it- It may sound simple, but by posting the checkpoints publicly or in a prominent place in your business can motivate your team.  Like having a thermometer for a fund raising project, the pride and motivation that can be built will encourage your project team to move forward.

By taking a few steps to make sure your team is meeting checkpoints you can save countless wasted hours. A team that is motivated will be more productive, which can keep progress going. Checkpoints are also a good way to know where your team should be at any point during their work. Using checkpoints is an effective way to get the most out of your business’ team projects.

Perfect Weather for a Trip to the Zoo 456

It’s February, so it should come as no surprise that most of the days this week will include cold weather. I don’t mind the cold. As a matter of fact, I really welcome the colder temperatures in the fall after a long hot summer. But about this time of year, I start thinking of warmer temperatures that mean I can spend more time outside of the house. Thankfully, today will feel a little like spring as warmer weather will be here for a short time.

This morning while listening to the weather forecast on the radio, I knew that my son and I were going to have to take advantage of the unseasonably warm weather. What that means on some days is that we spend some time playing in the yard. But today, I think we will head out to the zoo to take advantage of the weather. The only bad part of about heading to the zoo on a day like today is that even though it may warm enough for us to be out, some of the animals still don’t think it is warm enough to be outside.

But that won’t stop us because I know that the animals that my toddler likes the best are always out when we visit. The lions are his favorite and he is great at making roaring noises at them. The sea lions and penguins also like the weather even when it may be too cold for other animals. I can’t wait to take advantage of the warmer than normal weather and head out to the zoo.

Ways To Improve Your Time Management

I am horrible at time management because I am a procrastinator at heart. I typically will wait until the last minute before something is due to be accomplished before I start working on it. This is a bad habit that can be really hard to break. I use to be the opposite when I was in school as a child. I remember getting a project that wouldn’t be due for two weeks and finishing it up in one weekends time to get it out of the way. Something about getting older has made me move a little slower, but it doesn’t mean that I cannot improve my time management.

A good way to improve time management is to prioritize your day before the day begins. Make a list of everything you need to accomplish for the week and put it in order of what should be done first, second and so on. As you finish parts of your list you can check them off your list and move on. This visual reminder of all you have to do and all you have already accomplished can serve as a sort of push to get it all done. By checking things off when you get them done, you will begin to feel confident that perhaps the list is not too big for you to accomplish.

Another good trick to use for good time management is to leave the television off and stay off your computer if at all possible, unless your work is done on your computer. If that is the case, you should strive to stay off things like Facebook until your work is done.

How To Make the Most Out Of Your Day

My days are long. With a 40-minute commute (one way), a full time teaching job, coaching tennis, and managing to get to the gym three times a week, I have a busy schedule. So staying organized and managing my time is super important to me and my family. Here are some helpful tips to maximize your time and get the most out of your day.

Tip 1: Take it a week at a time- Let’s face it, most of your time is consumed by work. So don’t even think about any other time except outside of work when you start planning. I know people who plan a whole month out at a time. I find this to be inefficient for a few reasons. Most groceries go bad within a week. So monthly grocery shopping is just begging for more trips to be made. Most scheduling appointments can’t be made that far in advance. Therefore a change in schedule is inevitable. Take things a week at a time.

Tip 2: List EVERYTHING- I know it sounds like overkill, but make a list of everything that has to happen during that week. Bills that must be paid, groceries that must be bought, meals that must be cooked, and places that you have to be. Then combine those lists into one weekly calendar. It will save you a lot of time and headaches.

Tip 3: Combine EVERYTHING- If you can hit the grocery store on the way to and from work or perhaps pay a bill before going into work, do it! Whenever possible don’t make extra trips to the places you have to go. It’s a waste of time and money.

The Game that Develops the Minds of Young Children

One of the reasons that so many people have found that they prefer to entertain themselves playing online bingo sites instead of taking advantage of the online casinos has to do with their family. The online no deposit bingo rooms offer something that the online casinos just can’t provide, a family friendly environment. Even though bingo is a game of chance and some of the jackpots can be quite impressive, the main focus isn’t on money, it’s on having fun and meeting other people. Online casinos tend to be focused on the competitive aspect of the industry. Parents, especially parents of young children, find they’re more comfortable logged into the online bingo rooms.

The interesting thing about new bingo sites is that most parents don’t mind if their kids decide to play as well. Granted, the parent’s might not let their young child play in the jackpot games, or even in the free bingo bonus games, but most parents have no problem with their child playing a couple practice games before bedtime. Bingo has a reputation as being a wholesome game, something the online bingo rooms have worked hard to maintain.

It turns out that letting your child play a few games of robin hood bingo a few times a week might not be a bad idea at all. By allowing them to have fifteen or twenty minutes to play online bingo, you’re improving their future. The reason for this has to do with the discovery that online bingo improves cognitive function better than any other game around.

The first thing line bingo will do will teach your child how to multi-task. It doesn’t matter if your child is online playing a practice game and won’t win any money; kids tend to be naturally competitive. They’ll want the glory that comes from winning the game. Since the best way to win a game of online bingo is by playing with multiple bingo cards, your child will want to do just that. Playing with multiple bingo cards means they’re teaching their brain to focus on several things simultaneously, a skill which will serve them very well throughout the rest of their life.

Another thing that playing online bingo will do is improve your child’s memory. Online bingo games are fast, really fast. There won’t be time for your child to hunt and peck through their bingo cards to learn if they have the right mark. In order to mark their cards in time, they’ll have to memorize the information printed on the cards.
